The R9 Bird House features three key components attached to the mounting bracket: a micro switch, an optical density sensor, and a 6V solenoid with actuating arm. These components work together to separate the cue ball from the object balls during play.

As balls pass by the Bird House, the micro switch arm is activated, sending a signal to the optical density sensor, which engages the laser to identify the cue ball from the object balls. Once the cue ball is detected, the 6V solenoid activates, and the actuating arm redirects the cue ball off the track, returning it to the foot of the table.
